Kay's a Daddy's Girl

Kay has become a Daddy's Girl!
She loves to run around the house yelling for him while he's at work, "Daaaaaahaaad!"  And she runs to him when he walks in the door!
She also loves to wrestle and play with him.
Not to mention he is her twin!  Which to that, Dave says she is our least attractive child.
My response- Is it even possible for 2 genetically perfect specimens like ourselves to create something that's anything but GORGEOUS!???

Raindance

on the rainy day that ruined his Father/Son's Campout.

30th Birthday

Well, I turned 30.  I spent a lot of the day thinking about the 30 years I have had!
I feel so blessed to have had such an awesome family life growing up.
With a Mom and Dad that loved me and gave me siblings to be my best friends.
They provided the opportunities to learn or try anything I really wanted including cheerleading
and music
  to baseball
  art

 and diving.
They taught me how to work hard.  They loved each other.
They gave me a beautiful home to live in, and a huge family to feel a part of.
They gave me the opportunity to gain a testimony of the gospel and learn the plan of salvation.
And they allowed me to learn the joy of service.
And after so much fun in High School,

I got to go to a great school where I learned so much about myself.

I accomplished a degree in Graphic Design, that I enjoy so much.

   And I met Dave.
We were a perfect match!
Then I gained a whole other family and parents that treat me like one of their own!  What a blessing!
I have lived in 8 different places, and have had the opportunity to meet, be annoyed by, enjoy, and observe a lot of different people.  It has been a blessing to pick and choose, from all these people I meet,  things that I want to carry over into my life. Dave and I are so fortunate to now have 3 kids to love and teach.

Sometimes the responsibility seems a little exhausting and overwhelming, but I really am so blessed.  I'm so grateful for everyone who has loved me, accepted me, befriended me, and taught me during the last 30 years. What a great 30 years I have lived. and loved. and learned!

Branson Missouri Vacation

Last week we got to take a family vacation to Branson, Missouri, 14 hours away.

We stayed in the Willow Ridge Lodge Here are some pics of it...

We were bummed to find out when we arrived, that the outdoor pool was not yet open for the season!  Darnit!

We spent some time in their craft room.  Hank painted a bridhouse...
and we all painted flip flop frames...

We spent time on their little playground, that Kay LOVED!

There was a $1 Jewelry Store that Rue and I went to... WOW!  It was awesome!!!  SO much cool jewelry and shades!

We went to Table Rock Lake.  It was so clear, but was ice cold!
 It was
  ICE coooooold!!!
Kay didn't care a bit!  She just walked right in.
Dave told Hank he would buy him a toy excavator
if he would dunk his whole body under... He didn't.
When we were about to leave I asked, "What would you give me if I did it?!"  Dave said anything!  So I got him to guarantee that he will take me to New York City in June( it has been questionable  because we added this trip).  And I did it, clothes and all!  It was freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But thrilling!!!!
Did you know that King Kong is in Branson!?!?!
The kids played Putt Putt Golf at Pirate's Cove.
Rue has got a knack for golf!!!

Kay was her normal ole self...

We went to the Bass Pro Shop...
And somehow I kept gravitating toward their fudge cart- 3 times during the week!

Dave's favorite thing we did, was going tot he National Tiger Sanctuary where you see them feed 18 big cats up really close.

We saw the Branson Landing Fountain Show like 4 times...

We ate out one time... at this incredible restaurant called Cantina Laredo.  It was WOW so GOOD!  And there are lots of locations all over the US... Chicago, Vegas... Try it!!!
We went to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede where you watch a show while you eat a big Southern meal with NO SILVERWARE!

When we got to Branson it was 80 degrees.  It stayed that way for 2 days, then totally flip flopped.  More than half of our trip was in the 30's and raining (it even snowed)- i did not pack for that kind of weather!!!  One of the rainy days we went and saw The Croods.  LOVED IT!!!
We spent a lot of time in the Game room of our resort...
Hank and Dave practiced soccer, because Hank is signed up to play on a team this summer...
And we got Ole Time Photos taken...
Hank enjoyed doing it WAY more than he thought he would!  Those Guns make all the difference.

It was a great time to be together as a family!  And fun to be in a new place.  When we got home Dave wrote me a new note on my message board that says...
"Let's run away and leave the kids, PLEASE!  Love You!"
New York City here we come!  That Table Rock Lake Body Dunking will be worth it!
